I am a freelance photographer based in London.

I have always loved photography. A teenage reluctancy to engage with family life meant my camera was an ideal buffer - I began shooting everywhere I went and my photography has always reflected an attempt to find art in everyday life.

My earliest photography was a furious attempt to avoid the obvious*, and while I have since embraced the idea of capturing the beauty of the world around me, I am still gripped by an insistence to avoid cliché **.

Growing up in England has infused my images with a muted atmosphere. A passion for movies has lent my work a cinematic feel. My photographic eye keeps me afloat amidst the ever-swelling horde of smartphone-wielding, DSLR-clicking photographers forcing us all towards the edge of a crumbling cliff of creative irrelevance ***.

* A family trip to Venice found me shooting my own reflection in a bus window - god forbid I should produce anything the surrounding tourists were shooting.

** You are cordially invited to spot every cliché photograph in my portfolio. Inevitably, there are plenty.

*** Yeah I'm talking about you.
